Fall Trends

All this crisp fall weather we have been having got me wondering... what are the fall trends this year.  I have been seeing a lot of bright red pants in store fronts and found it no surprise when I read "#1 trend for fall 2011 is bright, fresh, colored pants."  I haven't rushed out and gotten a pair yet.  Being of short stature and a more muscular build I am on the look out for right pair for me but check out the new styles I found!
These bright cords are from J.Crew.  I can't imagine feeling anything but fresh & sassy if I was heading out in these!

This pair from Bloomingdales deep blue color is just stunning!
LOVING this green color from Nordstroms.

Classic Alarm Clock: The 2011 Version

Remember those classic black alarm clocks with the big red numbers?  Maybe some of you still own them! I made 'M' get rid of his a few years back.  They are big, they are boring and in my opinion a little unsightly in our decorated bedroom.  Enter Jonas Damon, a designer who's products are giving the your smart devices a new roll in the house.  I just love this idea!  As soon as I get my new iPhone I am getting this clock.

Permission To Dock

A handsome station for your nightstand or dresser, this retro, beech wood dock provides a vintage platform allowing your iPhone to charge in style.  iPhone docks sideways and rests on brass plate, the screen transforms into a digital time machine. Features space for your iPhone charger to connect invisibly. Choose from a variety of free "alarm clock" apps on iTunes.  Sold by Uncommongoods.

Because my mama said so...

Hi!  I'm Maria.  When I was growing up, I used to roll my eyes and laugh every time my mother said... "Isn't this white shirt cute... it's so fresh and crisp!" or "That skirt is such a classic piece."  The alternate version included beverages that were "so cool and reFRESHing."
Mom in her "classic" black dress

After a while, I started to realize most great purchases could be described that way; fresh sushi, crisp linen pants, classic little black dress, fresh yellow pillows,  crisp garden veggies, fresh sheets... the list goes on! Nowadays when we shop I hear myself saying... "Hey Mom! Isn't this perfume great?  It's just so fresh!" and she looks at me with this knowing look in her eye that says, "I told you so."

So I have decided, as an ode to my mother, to write about my fresh, classic and crisp inspirations.  One last note about my mom, she's a ton of FUN!  So if something doesn't fit into my fresh, classic or crisp category I'm sure, then, it is definitely FUN.

Thanks for reading!
